The Biona story begins in the 1970s on the west coast of lreland, where Bionas founder Noel was living off the land in a commune. While self-sufficiency deepened his respect for nature, he realised the small farm couldnt make an impact more widely. In a decision that would change more than he could imagine.
Biona organic tahini is made using hulled sesame seeds for an extra smooth texture. Since we do not use palm fat or emulsifiers, the seed oil may separate – this does not affect the quality – simply mix back in to restore the creamy consistency.
